I am going to buy my park tickets soon. I don't want Genie+ for all 4 day. I will then have to add Genie+ when I get to WDW. Will I be able to add on Genie+ if I buy my tickets from AAA? I couldn't add another day to tickets I bought elsewhere.

Hello Francine!  Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney today.

Disney Genie+ service helps Guests get more out of their day by spending less time waiting in line.  With Disney Genie+, Guests can reserve Lightning Lane access to over 40 rides and attractions, one at a time.

There are essentially two ways to purchase Disney Genie+ service.  The first is to purchase tickets with Disney Genie+ service added or to modify previously purchased tickets to add on the Disney Genie+ option.  As you mention, depending on the type of tickets and where they were purchased, not all tickets will have the option to add Disney Genie+ service.  When purchasing or modifying tickets to include Disney Genie+, it will be added to all admission days of a multi-day ticket.

The second way to get Disney Genie+ service is to purchase it on a daily basis through the My Disney Experience app.  I have found that depending on my plans for the day, I don't necessarily need to use Disney Genie+ service every day of my vacation.  I prefer having the option to decide whether or not I would like to add it that day.  To purchase Disney Genie+ for same-day use, use the menu button to select “My Genie Day” and scroll down a bit to the purple banner where you see “Get Disney Genie+ for Today”.  It will just take a few moments to complete your purchase and you should be all set.  Since Guests may reserve their first Lightning Lane attraction beginning at 7:00 am, I recommend purchasing Disney Genie+ a few minutes prior to 7:00.  When purchasing Disney Genie+ service this way for daily use, you will not be modifying your tickets at all, so it will not matter if you purchased them through AAA or elsewhere.

Some of the most popular attractions have been designated as Individual Lightning Lane selections and may be purchased a la carte in the My Disney Experience mobile app.  Guests do not need to have purchased Disney Genie+ service in order to purchase Individual Lightning Lane selections.  Use the menu button to go to the Tip Board to purchase Individual Lightning Lane access.  Guests staying at Disney Resorts Collection hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Shades of Green may make Individual Lightning Lane purchases at 7:00 am on the date of their visit.  All other Guests may purchase Individual Lightning Lane access at the scheduled park opening time.

Francine, as soon as your plans are firm I would encourage you to purchase your tickets and link them to your My Disney Experience account as soon as possible so you can make your Disney Park Pass reservations.  At this time, in an effort to manage attendance, all Guests ages 3 and up will need a Disney Park Pass reservation in addition to valid admission in order to enter a theme park.  Reservations are limited, and availability can change at any time.  Be sure to check the theme park reservation availability calendar prior to purchasing your tickets.

I hope that helps!  Please feel free to visit us again if you have any additional questions.
