If I buy park tickets for others, how do I link their tickets to individual magic bands? We have seniors without smart phones, so I will be the one with the tickets and would like to purchase and assign magic bands to each of them for lightning lane scans.

    Hi there, Alyssa!

Welcome to planDisney. You've brought us a question that speaks to my heart, combining both the Disneyland Resort and fun new technology.

If you are the individual purchasing and managing all of your party's theme park tickets and MagicBands+, you should be able to take care of linking tickets and bands with relative ease.

When you purchase your park tickets, they will automatically be linked to your MyDisney account on the Disneyland Resort website and on the Disneyland mobile app. You can use either the website or the Disneyland app to view and manage your theme park reservations. If other members of your party would like to link their tickets to their own account, they may do so using either the ticket barcode or ticket ID number from the My Tickets & Passes screen of the Disneyland app found in the ☰ feature menu.

You may choose to use the Disneyland app to access, activate, and use each of your party's tickets at the theme park entry gates and at the attraction entrances for Guests with Lightning Lane return time reservations. For even more convenience, you may use the app to link your set of MagicBands+ to your account. Access the MagicBand+ screen from the ☰ feature menu of the app. The process of linking each band will include an opportunity to assign one of your park tickets to that band. Or you may choose to assign a ticket to a band later. Use the '+' button in the upper right corner of the screen to link additional bands to your account. Details about setting up a MagicBand+ are found on the Disneyland Resort website. If Stitch is causing trouble or you experience other difficulties with your bands, you may also find some additional support information online.

Tony's Tip: A nice feature of the Disneyland app is that you may choose to modify the assignment of a park ticket to a MagicBand+. This way, members of your party may choose to trade bands, perhaps to accessorize and coordinate with their outfits for the day, while still using the respective park tickets for each Guest. From the MagicBand+ screen, tap the "Assign to a ticket or Magic Key pass" link to assign a ticket to a band. If a band already has a ticket assigned to it, tap the name and ticket ID number link to modify the assignment. When you want to do other configurations and updates for a MagicBand+, tap the picture of the band instead of the ticket link. That will give you access to the Bluetooth configuration, settings, and more for that band. You may also use a band's screen to unlink the band from your account. That's handy if you wish to transfer control of that band to another Guest who may then link the band to their own account in the Disneyland app.

I hope that offers a helpful start to managing your tickets and MagicBands+. If you have any more questions about different steps of the process, please feel free to reach out to me again. You may also speak with a Cast Member at the parks or call the App & Online Support phone line.

I hope you have a magical time at the Disneyland Resort, Alyssa!
