Hi there, Marie!
Thanks for splashing on over to planDisney with your question. How exciting that you have an upcoming vacation at
Walt Disney World Resort. Since you will be visiting during Florida's warm summer months, a visit to one of Walt Disney World's
water parks is a fantastic idea. I love the
Park Hopper Plus ticket option because guests have access to the same number of 'Plus' visits (water parks and select sports offerings) as they do to ticketed days in the theme parks. Because even date-based tickets can be used on non-consecutive days, you have the option of spending an entire day enjoying a water park or your
Disney Resort hotel without sacrificing any valuable time in the theme parks!
I just spoke with a helpful Cast Member who verified that you can indeed begin your magical vacation by making a splash at one of Walt Disney World Resort's water parks. There is no need to 'activate' your ticket at a theme park first. Since the water parks have been opening on an alternating basis in recent years, you will likely have the option to enjoy only one of the water parks,
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon or
Disney's Blizzard Beach, during your vacation. Be sure to keep an eye on the
Hours & Events Calendar as your magical vacation approaches for the most up-to-date information on availability and hours.
If previous years are any indication, you will likely be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth during the
EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival. I encourage you to stop by and try some delicious dishes from the specially curated menus throughout the theme park. My (overly competitive) husband and I also love taking part in
Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak scavenger hunt as we enjoy the festival. Our rule is that whoever spots Remy first gets to choose the food or beverage we try next.
I hope you have a wonderful vacation, Marie. Feel free to
drop back by with any additional questions that arise!
Cheers to 2024,
Lizzie
