Hey there Mike,
Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question!
Were you attempting to purchase your
theme park tickets through the Disneyland Resort website? I'm looking as of the time that I'm answering your question and I see Tier 6 1-day tickets are eligible for December 26 and the
Theme Park Reservation Calendar is showing availability for both parks on that date.
If you were purchasing through a third-party seller, I would recommend reaching out to them to get more information as to why you're not able to purchase for that date, or purchase directly through the Disneyland Resort website.
If you were attempting to use already purchased 1-day tickets, then my guess is that they are
a lower tier (Tiers 0-5) ticket that is not eligible to make a reservation on that date. The Disneyland Resort utilizes a tiered ticket system for 1-day tickets where lower tier tickets have more blockout dates throughout the year, but are less expensive to purchase.
From what I've seen, the parks tend to be less crowded on days when lower-tier tickets are eligible to be used. However,
the week of New Year's Eve tends to be quite busy and the only eligible 1-day ticket that can be used during this time is Tier 6, so make sure to purchase one of those if you're set on visiting on that date.
While I've never had a chance to visit the Happiest Place on Earth during this time, I've heard visiting during the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve is pretty magical! Be sure to take your time and enjoy all the
Holiday decor during your visit!
Thanks again for your question, Mike, and have a wonderful visit to the Disneyland Resort!
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
