Hiya, Kristin! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with your vacation planning question today. You've got a friend in me, and I'm here to help with all the info you need!
Mickey Mouse balloons are definitely an iconic
Walt Disney World Resort souvenir. I have a photo with a Mickey-shaped balloon from my first visit in 1981--but nowadays they are even cooler, with many different varieties and even light-up options that add to the nighttime magic all around the resort.
You can plan a surprise celebration in your hotel room--including festive balloons--during your stay with the help of
In-Room Floral & Gifts. This service is available for deliveries to Disney Resort Hotels and some select other locations 7 days a week, and you can order online or call to find an option that's just right!
Mickey balloons can also be found at the Town Center at
Disney Springs. On our most recent visit, I noticed vendors with colorful assortments and some happy Guests wandering the Springs with a bobbing balloon or two. Keep in mind that the vendors only accept cash, so you'll want to be prepared! There are several ATMs at Disney Springs if you need a quick infusion of cash.
There is so much to see and do (and EAT) at Disney Springs, so let me give you a few suggestions for your visit!
- For the ultimate balloon adventure, check out Aerophile - The World Leader in Balloon Flight, located in the West Side section. This is a ride in a tethered hot-air balloon that allows you to embrace your inner Carl Fredricken and see stunning views of Walt Disney World from way up high!
- I am more than a little obsessed with the goodies from Gideon's Bakehouse. There is usually a line, but if you arrive early I find it moves quickly. There's also a Virtual Queue available at certain times so you can explore the Springs and receive a text with a return time to obtain your treats. My personal favorite cookies are the Pistachio Toffee Chocolate Chip and the Triple Chocolate Chip, and I get a Peanut Butter Cold Brew any time I visit.
- There is so much great shopping at Disney Springs! My teen girls love to spend an afternoon there--some favorites include DisneyStyle for fun clothing and accessories with a Disney twist, Shore for cute casual clothes and swimwear, and Disney's Pin Traders to find some additions to their pin collections!
Kristin, I hope this information was just what you needed for your vacation planning purposes! Please visit us again anytime at planDisney if we can help with any other questions.
See Ya Real Soon!
