Do I buy the MaxPass for my family ahead of time or does it need to be purchased that day?

Howdy, Andrea! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel and asking your question!

I simply ADORE Disney MaxPass and I know that you will love it too once you see how much time it saves you while you are in the parks. You can purchase Disney MaxPass when you buy your tickets in advance online or you can buy it day-by-day once you are in the parks. If you know that you will be using it every day of your trip, I suggest adding it to your ticket purchase in advance. This will save you a step or two once you are ready to use it.

The first step of using Disney MaxPass is to link all the tickets to the Disneyland app. You can do this by scanning the barcode on each ticket or ticket voucher. You will want to assign a name to each ticket during this step of the process. Then, once you are inside either park, you can select your first FASTPASS! If you have Park Hopper tickets, you can select a FASTPASS for either park no matter which park you are currently enjoying. As you are using Disney MaxPass, keep your eye on the time when you can select your next FASTPASS. By selecting subsequent FASTPASSES as soon as you are able or as soon as you redeem one, you will zip around the parks riding your favorite attractions with very little waiting.

I hope this helps. Have a fabulous time at the Disneyland Resort!
