Hello there, Mary!
Welcome to planDisney! Having a
Magic Key pass is the best, I hope it works out for you!
According to the
Magic Key Terms & Conditions you have one year to activate your pass from the date of purchase. A pass is activated when it is used to access a parking structure (if the pass you choose includes parking) or a theme park. To enter the parks you'll need to make a theme park reservation, and those are limited based on the
blackout dates of the calendar for the pass you choose. If the calendar has a key type blocked then you will not be able to make a reservation and enter the parks, even if it's the first day you use your pass.
I'm sorry if that isn't the news you were hoping for! It's a good idea to look at the
Magic Key Calendar to know which pass will let you visit on which days before you choose which one to buy. I wouldn't want you to be disappointed with your choice!
There's also a great buying guide that gives all the details about purchasing a Magic Key. It's worth taking a look if you have more questions!
The
Holidays at the Disneyland Resort are almost here, so it's an amazing time to get a Magic Key! With plenty of happy thoughts and sweet treats, it really is the most magical season of all. I hope you'll be able to choose a Magic Key and enjoy a whole year of happiness at the parks, Mary!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
