Welcome to planDisney, Diana.
Oh, bother! I'm sad to say that since you asked your question, Disney has stopped sales of all new
Magic Key passes. Basically, they limit the amount that they sell in order to protect the experience for current Magic Key holders and the value those passes provide. Recently, Disney began selling Magic Key passes again. But due to their incredible popularity, all the available passes have already been snapped up. Hopefully, it won't be long before they go on sale again, Diana. Keep an eye out for any exciting announcements on
Disney Parks Blog. Once they become available again, don't hesitate to make your purchase.
Currently, Magic Key holders are able to upgrade or downgrade their pass to other available pass types. Assuming that policy stays the same in the future, once you purchase your own Magic Key pass, you should have some flexibility if you ever want to upgrade it.
I hope that's clarifying, Diana. I know that's not the news you wanted to hEAR. As you wait for the Magic Key pass to become available, hopefully, you'll still be able to visit The Happiest Place on Earth. Did you hear that
Mickey's Toontown is scheduled to reopen on March 8, 2023? I'm so excited to see how it's been reimagined. I love Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at the Walt Disney World Resort and I know it'll be a hit at the Disneyland Resort. Oh, boy!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney, Diana.
