Hi there, Sara, and welcome to planDisney!
I love that there is so much flexibility when it comes to the type of devices you can use to tap into the magic of Disney Parks. From using your Bluetooth-enabled Apple Watch to a physical theme park ticket to the super useful
MagicBand+ (and MagicBand), the choice is yours, Sara.
If you have an older MagicBand, you can definitely access the theme parks at the Mickey-shaped turnstiles. The internal battery of the MagicBand should last just about two years. So, if you’ve visited the Disney Parks within that time, your linked MagicBands can be used. By the way, this past weekend, I used a Minnie Mouse-themed regular MagicBand that I’ve had since 2019, and it worked! The batteries can last even longer than the estimated timeframe.
Of course, the newer MagicBand+ is pretty cool in itself. With it, you can interact with theme park elements, it has light-up displays and haptics, and you can show off your style with its many designs. If you do purchase one, be sure that you remember to charge it after a long day at the theme parks so that it’s ready to go for your next day’s adventure.
No matter which device you choose to wear, make sure that it’s linked to your
My Disney Experience App. You can check your MagicBands and More section in the app to double check that your devices are ready to go.
Sara, give us a holler here at planDisney if you have any other questions about your upcoming vacation.
I’m all ears! Magic always,
LeAndra
