Do you have to buy a magic band to enter parks, even though you have a paid park admission?

    Hey There, AnnaMarie!

I'm so glad you found your way to planDisney.  Can you believe that you'll be arriving at Walt Disney World Resort in just two weeks?  Before you know it, you'll be strolling down Main Street, U.S.A. and getting your first glimpse of Cinderella Castle all decked out for The World's Most Magical Celebration!  During your visit, you definitely won't want to miss a moment of the excitement surrounding the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration –– from beautiful nighttime displays and golden characters to EARidecent snacks and exclusive merchandise collections, there's so much to see and do.  I can't wait for you to experience all the magic in just a few short weeks!

MagicBands are an easy way to access your Walt Disney World theme park admission, unlock your Disney Resorts Collection hotel room door, and make purchases, but they aren't the only way to do these things –– you have several other options for accessing everything you'll need during your visit.  In my opinion, the most convenient way to access all your tickets, plans, and choices is by downloading a complimentary Disney MagicMobile pass right to the digital wallet of your smartphone or smartwatch.  I used this service in place of a MagicBand during my last Walt Disney World Resort visit and I loved it –– not only was it easy to use, but I didn't need to worry about forgetting my MagicBand in my hotel room.  To download your pass, simply open the My Disney Experience mobile app and tap on "Disney MagicMobile" in the menu.  From there, follow the onscreen prompts to create and confirm your pass.

Even if you're planning to use a MagicBand during your stay, I still suggest downloading a Disney MagicMobile pass, too.  That way if something happens to your band, you'll still have everything you need right at your fingertips.  If you'd prefer not to use your phone or watch in place of a MagicBand, you also have the option of using a Key to the World Card.  All you need to do is stop by the Front Desk at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel, a Walt Disney World Guest Relations location, or any theme park ticket window and a Cast Member will be happy to get a card set up for you to use throughout your visit.

Thanks for visiting planDisney, AnnaMarie.  I hope this helped to answer your question and I'm wishing you lots of pixie dust during your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!
