    if I buy my magic band from the Disney store how do I get it activated?

    Welcome to planDisney, Robert! 

    We’re happy to hear from you, and I hope you’re getting excited to visit Walt Disney World soon! It looks like you’ll be visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth during the spookiest time of the year — October! I hope you’re ready for some fun Halloween decor and special offerings around the theme parks and resort hotels. Be sure to catch up on the latest happenings that have been posted on the Disney Parks Blog. 

    If you purchase a MagicBand+ (either from disneystore.com or at any of the gift shops around Disney property) just follow the steps I’ve outlined below to link it to your Disney account:

    -Turn on your band by pressing the button on the back of it one time, then tap the band to your phone. 
    -You will then be directed to open (or to download) the My Disney Experience Mobile App. 
    -Continue by following the instructions in the app to link your new MagicBand+ to your Disney account. Assign the band to a Guest and then pair it to your mobile device. You can then use the app to be sure that your MagicBand+ is charged and that the software is updated. 
    -Make sure you link your theme park tickets, reservations, and more on the My Disney Experience Mobile App too.
