Hi Chris!
Welcome to planDisney.
I can't imagine anything making my life more simple while at the theme parks and water parks than my Magic Band. I don't have to worry about scrambling around my bag for park tickets or my phone, and everything is right there on my wrist, including the ability to make charges to my room account whenever I need to. It's useful to know they are also completely waterproof so if you are swimming or visiting a water park (or get caught in a heavy downpour) you can continue to wear them and they won't be damaged.
I know for sure that the older version of
MagicBand+ (MagicBand 2) was still available for sale recently because I bought one for my next trip. You might have to search a little for them now, but you most probably will find one somewhere. Check out the hotel gift shop when you arrive. They have a smaller selection but you might be lucky. That is exactly where I found my ideal MagicBand 2.
Many stores around Walt Disney World Resort sell MagicBands - so it's worth having a look around. For good selections, I recommend the Emporium on Main Street USA at Magic Kingdom Park, Creations Shop at EPCOT, and
Celebrity 5 & 10 at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Over at Disney Springs I recommend
World of Disney or D-Tech on Demand at Marketplace Co-Op.
I encourage you to keep checking
Disneystore.com as well because they frequently update their stock.
Guests from the United States staying at a Disney Resort hotel can pre-order their MagicBands from a wide selection on My Disney Experience mobile app, and have them delivered to their home address. The MagicBands on sale are often re-stocked, so please keep checking, and be ready to place your order as soon as you see the ones you want because they also sell out quickly. They often have a good stock and you might find a MagicBand 2.
Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions, and you can
send me a direct question if you wish. We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World!
