Hi Matthew!
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for sending this question to us hEAR. I have to admit, I'm not a friend of the alliance. Or the dark side. And I really don't know anything about this saga. However, one thing I do know
very well is
shopping all over Mickey's house.
I completely understand wanting to protect your brand new, hand-built laser sword, and the good news is that you have a lot of options. Unlike backpacks and purses that
do go on
attractions with you throughout your Disney day, Lightsabers are able to be held by Cast Members at the load/unloading station of most attractions. (Think of a child with a balloon; both souvenEARs would be fine on the
Mark Twain Riverboat but both will be held on anything more thrilling.) Usually what will happen, especially on attractions where the load and unloading zones are in different locations, is that Cast Members will hand them off between each other, or possibly even trade places so they remember which blade belongs to which human. If you'd like to go this route, it's not a bad idea to bring a luggage tag or spare ID badge to attach to your carrying bag just in case.
A few more options are to have the saber shipped to your home directly from Disney. The good thing about this pick is that you'll sign up and pay for this service at
First Order Cargo and not while you're still at
Savi's Workshop, so you can have however much time you'd like to take photos with it all over
Batuu. If you don't quite need shipping services, ask at both
Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities and
Droid Depot if they offer complimentary purchase holds, but heads up, ask what their closing hours are because they may be different from the
park's hours for that day. Another direction is that guests are allowed in-and-out privileges at Disney's theme parks, so you have the option to run your weapon to your car or
Disney Resort Hotel and can come right back to
Disneyland Park when you're done. Lastly, there are paid
Locker Rentals on-site; however, the only size cubby that will fit a Lightsaber will be the jumbo units at the facility near the
Stroller Rental counter, and even then you'll have to take your piece apart. (Pro Tip: Ask if the Stroller Rental counter offers merchandise holds.)
I hope this helped to plan your upcoming Disney Day, Matthew! And if you have any more Disneyland or Star Wars questions, We're All Ears!
