Can I buy a lightning pass after i already purchased a 3 day hopper without it?

Season's greetings, Heidi! Thanks for stopping by planDisney on your way to the Happiest Place on Earth. I'm so glad you'll be visiting soon!

You are in luck! You can add Lighting Lane passes (subject to availability) on the day of your visit. There will be an option to do so in the Disneyland Mobile App after scanning your admission ticket for entry. As Lightning Lane return times are only available to book once you've entered a park for the day, you will want to arrive as close to park opening time as possible for the earliest return times for rides like Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, and WEB SLINGERS. The most popular rides (usually the thrill rides) tend to book first thing, so if those are on your must-ride list, then I recommend booking those first!

Heidi, there are three Lightning Lane Pass options. Lightning Lane Multi Pass (LLMP) allows you to book from a list of select attractions throughout the day, subject to availability; there are over twenty LLMP attractions between the two parks! As for Lightning Lane Single Pass (LLSP) attractions, there is one eligible ride in each park. This a la carte add-on allows you to book a return time for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance or Radiator Springs Racers - or both if you purchase LLSP for both attractions! You can also use these add-on options together, like purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass on the same visit, or using Premier Pass along with LLMP to double the number of times you can ride a particular ride without waiting in the standby queue. For more information, visit the Disneyland website or open the Disneyland Mobile App!

Another way to increase the magic is by bringing your MagicBand+ along on your trip. Not only can you use it to scan into the theme parks (after linking it to your park ticket), you can use it for tapping in for your Lightning Lane return times, linking photos taken by Disney PhotoPass photographers, and enjoying interactive spots throughout the Disneyland Resort for the 70th Anniversary Celebration. It's a simple and easy way to enjoy extra pixie dust during your stay!

I hope this helps in your planning, Heidi. If you have any other questions, please visit me again. I would love to help!

    See you in the parks,
    Melissa
