Boo to you, Jamie! Thanks for coming to planDisney with your question today! It looks like you'll be visiting during the spooky season, and I'm as happy as a grim grinning ghost to see all of the
Halloween offerings that will be materializing this fall! It's going to be a frightfully fun time to visit!
Jamie, while
Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass are options to help Guests alleviate extended wait times on some of the more popular attractions, they are completely optional! You are certainly able to visit the parks without either of these options and enter a standby queue to experience the majority of attractions and experiences in all four Theme Parks!
There are, however, a few attractions that do not currently offer Guests the option of a standby line, so to experience these attractions, you have the option to join a complimentary boarding group using the
Virtual Queue system on the
My Disney Experience mobile app. These attractions include
Tiana's Bayou Adventure (also available as an option with Lightning Lane Multi Pass),
TRON Lightcycle/Run (also available as an option with Lightning Lane Single Pass), and
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (also available as an option with Lightning Lane Single Pass). If you are hoping to experience any of these, I would recommend joining the Virtual Queue right at 7 AM EST on the day of your visit - each of these attractions offers thrills and you won't want to miss them!
Jamie, if you're going to utilize the standby lines throughout your visit, be sure to keep an eye on the Wait Times in the My Disney Experience mobile app so you will be able to make the most of your time! I also recommend selecting one of the more popular attractions to visit as soon as the park opens to minimize your wait time - attractions like
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train,
Slinky Dog Dash,
Avatar Flight of Passage, and
Remy's Ratatouille Adventure are popular selections at each Theme Park, so my family usually chooses these to visit at park opening. And don't forget if you are staying as a Guest at a Disney Resort hotel, you can take advantage of
Early Theme Park Entry to enjoy an extra 30 minutes in each park, every single day!
Jamie, I hope this helps you to embrace the magic and experience all of the exciting attractions at the Walt Disney World Resort! If we can help with any other vacation planning questions,
come on back and let us know!
Happy Planning - and Happy Halloween,
Alison
