A warm welcome from all of us at planDisney to you, Dawn. We're so glad came to visit us with your question. I'm so excited to hear that you are planning a visit to the Disneyland Resort and I'm delighted to help out.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass is a great start to having your best Disney day. While Lightning Lane Multi Pass can be added to your ticket when making your purchase at the Disneyland site, it can only be added for all days of your visit and not for a single day. No need to worry though, Hakuna Matata as they say! You can add Lightning Lane Multi Pass to your ticket after you've made your purchase on the day of your visit for which you'd like to use it.
Once your ticket has been scanned and you have entered the theme park, you can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass for the day in the
Disneyland app and then immediately make your first selection. Keep in mind that Lightning Lane Multi Pass is subject to availability, so I recommend arriving at the park early to ensure you're able to purchase it as well as make the most of the service for the day. Unlike at Walt Disney World Resort where you can book Lightning Lane selections in advance, at Disneyland Resort you can only begin making selections as soon as your ticket has been scanned and you've entered the theme park.
I like setting an alarm on my phone to remind me to make my next Lightning Lane selection. If you plan to visit soon, I recommend prioritizing
Tiana's Bayou Adventure if you'd like to experience this attraction. It is currently only available when joining the
virtual queue or with Lightning Lane entry (subject to availability). Keep an eye on the Tip Board in the Disneyland app for attractions that may run out of Lightning Lane return windows and try to prioritize these as well. During my visits, I've noticed this list of attractions can often include Indiana Jones Adventure, Space Mountain, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!
Dawn, I hope this helps as you prepare for your magical adventure. If it's your first visit to the Disneyland Resort, be sure to get your "1st Visit!" button to mark the occasion. These can be found inside many of the shops along Main Street, U.S.A. - just ask a friendly Cast Member. Here's wishing you a most magical time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
