Welcome aboard planDisney! With your sailing just a few days away, it looks like you’re putting the finishing touches on your planning, so let’s make sure you know where to find the internet packages once you’re ready to set sail.
One of my favorite parts about cruising with Disney is having the chance to disconnect for a few days. That said, sometimes we cannot fully disappear from the world, so having the option to purchase an internet package is always nice.
When it comes to purchasing an internet package, you’ll find the link in your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once you’re at the cruise terminal and have
connected to the ship’s Wi-Fi. The complimentary Wi-Fi gives you full access to the features of the Navigator app, so you can check your schedule, activities, dining information, and more without purchasing an internet package. The complimentary Wi-Fi also supports texting through iMessage and WhatsApp. However, sending photos and videos won’t work through the complimentary service, so keep that in mind if your family group chat tends to become a running photo album!
If the complimentary Wi-Fi just won’t cut it, there are currently
two internet packages to choose from: the Internet + Streaming Package and the Internet Package. As the name implies, the Internet + Streaming Package is the more heavy-duty option and is best if you plan to stream your favorite shows or movies and need a higher-quality connection. If you’re looking for basic web surfing, sending some pictures or videos to family and friends, or keeping up on social media, the Internet Package is likely to do the trick for you. Pricing options for both packages can vary depending on whether you purchase internet for the entire voyage or choose a 24-hour option.
I hope this helps you get connected without letting your phone take over your vacation. Sometimes the best part of a Disney cruise is putting the phone away and enjoying the view, but when you need to send a picture home or check in with the folks on land, it’s nice to know the technology is there when you need it.
