Guardians of the Galaxy at Night

    Can you buy Individual Lightning Lane rides at 7am while you are on the road driving to Disney, as long as you have an on-site hotel that night? We have a 7 hr drive & will arrive around noon, but it doesn't seem clear if we can buy ILL en route.

    Welcome to planDisney. You sound like a girl after my own heart, because I'm always the first in line to arrange Disney Genie+ Service and Individual Lightning Lanes for my group, whether we are traveling by plane, train, or automobile.

    I'm happy to share that you can purchase Individual Lightning Lanes at 7 a.m. while en route to Walt Disney Route Resort as long as you are a Disney Resorts Collection hotel guest or a guest of other select hotels. In fact, I had a similar plan when I visited with a friend in January. We made sure to purchase an afternoon Individual Lightning Lane for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, literally seconds before we boarded our flight to Orlando. It made the travel even more exciting, knowing our favorite EPCOT attraction was waiting to welcome us when we arrived.

    I want to remind you that guests are able to purchase up to 2 Individual Lightning Lanes per day at this time. These can be purchased in addition to Disney Genie+ Service, or as stand-alone purchases. You'll also have the option to join a Virtual Queue for an eligible attraction in your reserved park at 7 a.m.  If you plan to complete multiple transactions on the drive down you may want to divide and conquer. My husband usually tackles any Virtual Queues for our family while I make our Individual Lightning Lane purchases. Thankfully, we've been pretty lucky each time so far! Just be sure your party is linked on your Family & Friends List within your My Disney Experience App before you head out.
