Madeline,
Though Disney has offered something in the past that is like what you describe, they do not currently have any such half-day offerings.
Frankly, I love the idea! The thought of just chilling out by the pool for the better part of the day, maybe getting some shopping in at
Disney Springs, then heading to the
Magic Kingdom Park for dinner and the amazing evening show sounds fantastic.
But your plans don't have to be totally scrapped. Let me give you some suggestions of ways you can replicate your idea. Perhaps one of these will get you that twilight magical gathering you seek.
Happy HolidaysDuring the time that you are visiting the Magic Kingdom hosts
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The tickets grant you access to the park starting at 4 pm, and do not require you to also have a standard park ticket. You not only get your view of the
Disney Enchantment show, but you get all that holiday atmosphere as a bonus!
A View from the IslandsI love to watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. While you cannot just wander in there to watch the show if you are not already a hotel guest, you can make a dinner reservation at
'Ohana, which affords some great views of the magic.
Signature ViewsIf you are open to really making for an upscale experience, you could also consider getting a reservation at the
California Grill, which sits atop
Disney's Contemporary Resort. It is one of the finest restaurants at Walt Disney World, and a personal favorite. Even if you are done with dinner before the show starts, you are allowed to come back that same evening and take in the show from the open-air balcony alongside the restaurant.
A Sailor's PerspectiveA final suggestion would be to hop aboard the
Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise. You will sail you to the middle of the Seven Seas Lagoon for a crowd-free viewing, and enjoy some sweet treats along the way!
Write me back if you would like some other suggestions.
Have a Magical Vacation!
