Hiya, Lauren!
Welcome to planDisney!
You are a Mouseketeer after my own heart. I love using
Disney Gift Cards on my visits to The Happiest Place on Earth. Something about this form of Mickey Money just makes my heart happy - I think it's because the gift cards look so cute, or because I know each card will help supply the magic of a visit to Mickey's house.
Yes,
Disney Gift Cards can be used to purchase
Disneyland Resort Theme Park Admission Tickets. You may purchase a Disney Gift Card in person at a retailer near you, like a big-box store, or once you get to Disneyland from a
shop in the
Downtown Disney District. However, your better bet will be to purchase an
electronic Disney Gift Card online from ShopDisney.com and have it sent to your email address. It usually doesn't take that long for an e-gift card to be delivered, and once in your inbox, it'll be available for use immediately. You can even redeem a Disney E-Gift Card directly on your smartwatch or phone by saving it to your mobile wallet or by having a Cast Member scan it directly from the delivery email!
Pro Tip: Remember that at the current time, each
Theme Park Admission Ticket requires a
Park Pass Reservation. Park Pass Reservations are available for booking up to 120 days in advance, and some Disney days tend to sell out in the days and weeks leading up to a day of fun, so be sure to check the
Park Pass Reservation Availability Calendar before you move forward with your gift card purchasing plans.
Bonus Pro Tip: If you have a Target RedCard, purchase your Disney Gift Cards on Target.com as the 5% savings will apply to these e-cards!
I hope that this helped to better plan your upcoming Disney days, Lauren! Be sure to follow the
