Hi there! I want to buy Genie + ahead of time, but my family already purchased their tickets. I've heard that they can sell out if you try and buy them each day, so I would like to get them before we arrive in Disneyland in March. How do I do this?

Welcome to planDisney, Emily. I love the convenience of using Disney Genie+ Service during my visits to the Disneyland Resort, and I'm delighted to help with your question.

Why not unlock the phenomenal cosmic power of Genie+ during your visit and spend less time waiting in lines? I can definitely relate to and understand your desire to put Genie+ to work for you during your upcoming visit. While you can add Disney Genie+ Service to your ticket before your arrival, the only option to do this, at this time, is to purchase as an add-on when you make your initial ticket purchase. Not to worry, you can still purchase this service (via the Disneyland app) each day of your visit once you've been scanned into the parks.

You are correct that Genie+ availability is limited and there is the possibility of it selling out. My recommendation is to arrive at the parks early to purchase as soon as you can. In my experience, Guests generally start to be scanned into the parks 30 minutes prior to park open time (of course this is subject to change). So if you're not already a rope dropper, get a good night's sleep the day before, grab a coffee and head to the theme park early. Something else to keep in mind, once you've purchased Disney Genie+ Service, you also gain access to unlimited Disney PhotoPass Digital Downloads from the day. I always love this added benefit and the convenience of having a Disney PhotoPass photographer taking my photos.

You've picked an especially magical time to visit the Disneyland Resort with the Disney100 Celebration happening and the resort decorated in its platinum and purple best. Spring will also be doing its thing and there will be many beautiful flowers in bloom during your visit.

Emily, I know this is probably not the answer you were hoping for, however, I hope I was able to give you another option to consider. Your visit will be here before you know it. Please come back to visit us with questions as you continue to plan your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth.

    Happy planning!
