Do you have to buy both the general ticket and mickeys not so scary Halloween event? I just want to buy for the Halloween event is that possible

Welcome to planDisney Lisa, and thank you for stopping by with your question! It’s always a treat to help guests plan their visits to the Walt Disney World Resort, especially when it involves one of the most festive times of year. Halloween at Magic Kingdom Park is filled with spooky fun, sweet surprises, and magical memories waiting to be made. I’d be happy to help you understand what’s needed to enjoy Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!

You can absolutely attend just Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party without needing to purchase a regular daytime park ticket. This special event is separately ticketed, meaning it operates outside of normal park hours and requires only the event admission, not a standard theme park ticket.

With your Halloween party ticket, you’ll be allowed to enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4:00 PM, even though the actual party doesn't officially start until 7:00 PM. From 4:00 PM onward, Cast Members begin transitioning the park to the event. Regular day guests (those without a party ticket) will be asked to leave starting around 6:00 PM. After that, the park is reserved exclusively for Halloween party guests.

Once the party begins, you’ll have access to all the themed entertainment that makes this event so unique. That includes the Boo-to-You Halloween Parade, the Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks, the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular stage show, and numerous trick-or-treat stations throughout the park. Most major attractions also remain open, many with reduced wait times. Some even offer Halloween overlays just for the party.

Costumes are allowed and encouraged for all ages during this event, which is another feature that makes it stand out from regular park days. Plus, there are rare character meet-and-greets and themed snacks available only during the party.

So if your plan is to arrive in the late afternoon and enjoy a full night of Halloween fun, the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ticket is all you need. There is no requirement to also purchase a general admission ticket unless you plan to enter Magic Kingdom before 4:00 PM.

Lisa, I hope this helps you get everything set up for your magical adventure at Walt Disney World Resort! Thank you for visiting planDisney, and have a pixie dusted day!
