Hi there, Joshua! Thanks for coming to planDisney! I’m happy to help with your planning!
There is a lot that we can do to plan for the perfect Walt Disney World Resort vacation, but controlling the weather is not one of those things! You’d think Professor Ludwig Von Drake could create a machine to control the weather, but his inventions don’t always seem to go as planned!
Guests are welcome to buy tickets for the Disney Parks up to the day of the planned visit, however, I don’t necessarily recommend that strategy. While rare, you run the risk of there not being any park availability that day. I’d hate for you to arrive at the ticket window only to be told that you can’t visit the park.
To better manage their theme park attendance, the Disney Parks use a theme park reservation system called the
Disney Park Pass System. Guests must make a theme park reservation for the park they plan to visit. Guests are welcome, and strongly encouraged, to visit the
Disney Park Pass Reservation Calendar to plan their visit. I always recommend checking the calendar to make sure there is park availability for the park you wish to visit and then purchase your ticket.
Joshua, I see that you’re planning on visiting in mid-June. Of course, you can plan on it being hot! Regarding rain, there is typically a passing afternoon rain. I usually throw a few ponchos in my backpack and get them out once the rain begins. The rain usually passes quickly, but longer periods of rain can also be an inconvenience. Good quality Disney Parks ponchos can be purchased at locations throughout the parks. I’ve been using the same ponchos for the past several years after purchasing them at Magic Kingdom Park when the gray clouds began to build.
Have a great visit this summer! Have fun and stay dry!
Happy Planning!
