Hey there Jennifer,
Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for your question! It must be nice to have a friend like you! However, I definitely understand that plans can change, and it sounds like now your friend is unable to visit the Disneyland Resort with the ticket you purchased.
While tickets between the Disneyland Resort and the Walt Disney World Resort are completely separate and are not interchangeable, your Disneyland Resort ticket is still able to be used by you or your friend whenever you next plan a visit.
The expiration dates for wholly unused tickets are typically quite far out - for example, if you purchased a
multi-day theme park ticket today, it wouldn't expire until January 12, 2026, as long as it remained unused. Therefore your ticket should still remain usable until its expiration date, which you can check on the confirmation email you received when you purchased it.
All you'll need to do when you're ready to use it is set up a
theme park reservation through the
My Plans hub for each day you're planning on visiting and you'll be all set!
If you're not able to use the ticket before its expiration date, you can apply the amount of the ticket toward the purchase of your next theme park ticket of equal or greater value and just pay the difference.
Thanks again for your question, Jennifer! I hope you have a fantastic next visit to the Disneyland Resort.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
