If I buy a Disney park hopper ticket for Disneyland and want to upgrade it to an annual passed on my second day am I able to do that. And use the amount I paid for the park hopper tickets towards my pass?

Hello, Beverly! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for your question!

You can certainly upgrade a Park Hopper ticket to a Magic Key! There are just a few things to keep in mind:

    • You will want wait until the last day you are in the parks to upgrade to a Magic Key. This is because once you upgrade, any future theme park reservations associated with the ticket you are upgrading will be canceled.
    • After you enter the park on your last day, but before the parks close that evening, you can upgrade your ticket to a Magic Key in the Disneyland app. Since you are a California resident, you can opt for the monthly payment plan or pay the difference between the amount you paid for your Park Hopper ticket and the cost of your new Magic Key in full.
    • Your Magic Key activation/anniversary date will be retroactive to the date that you first used the ticket that you upgraded to a Magic Key.
Keep in mind that moving forward, you will still need to make theme park reservations for each day you want to visit the parks with your Magic Key. You can make reservations up to 90 days in advance and you will use a theme park reservation availability calendar that is specifically for Magic Key holders

I hope this information was helpful. Have a wonderful day!
