    Can I buy the dining plan if I am staying at shades of green?

    Hi Rita,

    Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for your question about using the Disney Dining Plan at Shades of Green. My family is also a military family, and we love taking advantage of the many perks offered to us at the Walt Disney World Resort.

    While Shades of Green offers many fabulous amenities, including a fantastic location close to Magic Kingdom Park and a ticket office onsite where military can purchase their discounted tickets, it is not officially a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, and therefore does not participate in the Disney Dining Plan.

    I have some good news for you, though, Rita. Disney Resort hotels do currently offer a military discount on room reservations, and military members staying in those hotels do qualify for the Disney Dining Plan when they make a room-only reservation. Those reservations must be made on the phone by calling Walt Disney World Resort Reservations at (407) 939-1936. Tell the cast member helping you that you are a military member (or dependent) and would like to take advantage of the military room discount and add the Disney Dining Plan. Always check the Walt Disney World Resort website to be sure you're aware of the latest discount opportunities.

    If you prefer to stay at Shades of Green, there are some dining deals for military both at Shades of Green and in Disney Springs. My family has always found the staff at Shades of Green to be super helpful, sharing information about discounts and also special activities like the Magic Kingdom Park flag retreat.
