    Can you only buy a dining plan if you book a hotel inside Disney? Also I read that you can bring in outside food is this correct?

    Hello, Denise!  Welcome to the Moms Panel!

    You must book a Disney Vacation Package in order to take advantage of the Disney Dining Plan.  Yes, this also includes staying at a Walt Disney World Resort.  

    Bringing your own snacks/food is a great money-saving tip.  It also helps out while you are waiting in lines. I know it helps my own kids stay occupied and having their stomachs full keeps the smiles coming.  You may want to keep your snacks in a backpack or bring along a cooler with shoulder straps since rolling coolers are not allowed inside the parks.  Also, keep in mind that glass containers are no permitted in the parks.
