Hi there, Sharon, and welcome to planDisney!
You will absolutely love visiting Walt Disney World in December. The already pixie-dusted details in the theme parks are even more magical as the winter holidays fall upon the Resort. From Magic Kingdom Park to
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, the holidays come alive in their own unique ways. For example, if you’re visiting
EPCOT on December 6, you’ll be immersed in the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, where you can taste yummy treats and see how people celebrate the season around the globe.
I strongly recommend that you buy your ticket online or via the
hotline before your visit. At the moment, Walt Disney World Resort uses the
Disney Park Pass Reservation System. This means that when you arrive at the theme park of your choice, you may find that that theme park has reached the limit of park reservations. I will say that this doesn’t happen too often, but as we approach one of the busiest seasons at the Resort, your chances of starting your day on a not-so-happy note will increase.
If you’d rather buy it the day of and in-person, check out the Theme Park Availability Calendar that morning or the night before to see if you’ll most likely be able to buy a ticket when you arrive and then buy the ticket by visiting one of the theme parks’ main entrance ticket booths. A friendly Cast Member can tell you the price of your ticket depending on the date that you arrive and the theme park that you’re visiting. However, if you buy your ticket online, as a Florida resident, it looks like an adult (over the age of 9) 1-Day theme park ticket (without the
Park Hopper Option) for December 6 at Magic Kingdom Park is $174. This is only an example, and I highly recommend that you check out the
Admission webpage to customize your ticket to your party’s needs.
Sharon, if you have any other questions or need any suggestions for what to do during your visit, please give us a holler here at planDisney. I’m so excited for you to step into the magic soon!
Magic always,
LeAndra
