Hi Kimberly! Welcome to planDisney!
Great minds think alike! I always try to visit a park on our arrival day. There is nothing better than stepping onto Main Street, U.S.A and taking in the view of the castle when just that morning you woke up in your own bed. In fact, I have this exact plan in place for an upcoming visit next month. I reserved a table at Tony's Town Square and plan to sit outside on the patio taking in all of the sights and sounds of the
Magic Kingdom Park.
As we all know too well these days, planning can only take you so far. You can have the ultimate day mapped out but one hiccup can send the day on a tailspin. With the uncertainty of flights at this time, I understand the concern of your flight being canceled or delayed. I would however recommend purchasing a park ticket needed and making your park reservation as soon as possible.
Theme Park Reservations can fill up fast and if you do not reserve ahead of time, there is a chance your park of choice is not available.
While all tickets are non-refundable, the amount you paid for the ticket will never lose its value. You will be able to use that value toward a future ticket, but if the cost on that particular day is greater, you will need to pay the difference. I'm not sure what the rest of your trip holds, but if you have a multi-day ticket package currently, try calling
Disney's Existing Ticket line to see about adding on an additional.
Multi-day tickets are sold at a discount per day, dependent on the number of days that the tickets are for. The cost for a park ticket on your arrival day may be significantly less as part of a package and purchasing an individual day. Just something to consider prior to booking.
Kimberly, I hope you end up having the most magical arrival day to date!
See ya real soon!
