If I buy the 3 day SoCal pass, can I upgrade it to a Magic Key once they go on sale? They don’t go on sale for another week.

Hi Sabrina! Thanks for dropping by planDisney.

Isn't it exciting that Magic Key sales will be returning soon? I was thrilled to see the announcement. Lots of Guests have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to purchase and have more access to the magic, special perks, and discounts. I've loved having a Magic Key over the last year, and I think you would too!

The currently available SoCal Special Ticket Offer is also a great value for Guests who live in eligible ZIP Codes, giving them more access to the parks at a fantastic price. The price and terms of that offer are subject to change.

Ticket upgrades to available Magic Keys can be made on wholly and partially unused tickets with some exceptions. The good news is that I spoke with a helpful Cast Member, and they indicated that a SoCal ticket should be eligible for an upgrade. Even if you haven't scanned into the park, you can upgrade by visiting the main ticket booth. A partially used ticket must be upgraded on or before the last day of valid use. This can be done on the Disneyland mobile app. Magic Keys are popular and do sometimes sell out quickly, so I'd attempt my upgrade as soon as possible.

To upgrade a partially used SoCal ticket to a Magic Key using the Disneyland mobile app click the three-bar menu at the bottom of the app. This will bring up a series of tiles. Select "Tickets and Passes." Underneath the ticket, you should see an option to upgrade. You'll have to pay the difference and prices are subject to change. Be sure you've read through all the details and terms of the Magic Key you're selecting before purchase, including Blockout dates.

    Have a magical day!
