Hi Keith!
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for sending this great
Disneyland Resort and
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question to us hEAR. I'm happy to be your planEAR today!
Oh boy! Keith, I love your dedication, and am very jealous of, your two upcoming trips to Mickey's California and Florida houses! One of my favorite things to do between the two opposite coast theme park resorts is to compare the similar attractions and figure out which one is better; for example, Pirates of the Caribbean and "it's a small world." (Spoiler alert: I think Disneyland has the better version of both.)
Sadly
theme park admission tickets are non-transferrable between the two coasts. Disneyland and Walt Disney World each operate their own back-end system so a ticket at one would be unrecognizable at the other. Each ticket also has a rule that says it must be used within 14 days of its first day of use, so sadly there is also too much time between your two trips to also use it in that way. Prior to the pandemic closures, there was a bi-coastal
Annual Passport that granted admission every day to both Disneyland Resort as well as Walt Disney World Resort. While this type of ticket isn't currently for sale, it still might not be the best option for you as you'd need to plan two trips to each park within a single 365-day yEAR for you to come out ahead financially.
I do have one idea for you, Keith.
Disney Gift Cards are accepted at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, as well as at ShopDisney.com, Disney Cruise Line, and at Aulani - A Disney Resort & Spa in Hawaii. You can start stocking up on Disney Gift Cards that you can use to purchase your
theme park tickets,
dining, your entire
Disney Resort Hotel stay, even your
souvinEARs. You can purchase
Disney Gift Cards online or you can find them in your hometown. Some stores even sell Disney Gift Cards with slightly more value loaded on them than what you end up paying, like at Sam's club. But my favorite place to buy Disney Gift Cards is at Target where they qualify for the 5% savings with a Red Card. Your plan hEAR could be to buy some gift cards for your Disneyland visit, and then whatever's left over could be spent at Walt Disney World Resort!
I hope that this helped to clEAR things up a bit, Keith. Be sure to follow the
official planDisney Instagram account for even more tips and tricks. And if you have any more Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning questions, We're All Ears!
