can i buy a 2 day disneyland ticket and only update the second day to a park hopper ticket?

Hey there, Jonathan! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. It looks like you are just a few weeks away from your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! Let's take a look at your ticket questions so you can start dreaming about those park days ahead.

When you purchase a 2-day ticket, you will need to choose either One Park Per Day tickets or Park Hopper tickets for both days at the time of purchase. The only way to have one of each would be to purchase the tickets in separate transactions - one for the One Park Per Day tickets and the other for the Park Hoppers. I did a little Disney math and actually discovered that it's more cost-effective to go with the two Park Hopper days rather than one of each! Just something to consider!

One of the things I love most about the Disneyland Resort is just how easy it is to hop between parks! As an East Coaster, I grew up going to the Walt Disney World Resort where there are many forms of transportation to take between parks and hotels. When I visited Disneyland for the first time, I could not believe how close the parks were to each other. You can go between parks on foot faster than Lightning McQueen can do a lap around Radiator Springs!

There is so much to see and do at both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure that you will love being able to bounce between them. You can start your day mingling with Super Heroes on Avengers Campus and close out the day taking a spin in a tea cup at the Mad Tea Party. Or start your day flying the Millennium Falcon and end it by helping the Guardians of the Galaxy escape from the Collector! When you purchase your tickets, you will be prompted to make a theme park reservation. With Park Hoppers, you choose the park where you would like to start your day with hopping available after 1 p.m. Since you have two days, I would recommend starting at a different park each day so you get the full experience!

Once you have decided on your tickets, you'll want to go ahead and download the Disneyland Mobile App. Here you can link your park tickets, Mobile Order meals and snacks and check attraction wait times. The new Disney Genie Service included with the app will take you on a magic carpet ride through your favorite attractions and make live suggestions based on your interests. It's complimentary and all you need to do is cozy up to the Genie and let him know your preferences. He will deliver a hand-selected itinerary just for you on your park days AND make suggestions as you move through the parks! If you'd like to upgrade to Genie+, you'll get even faster access to select attractions through Lightning Lanes as well as unlimited digital downloads of all the Disney PhotoPass photos you capture that day!

Jonathan, I truly hope this was helpful in your planning. If you have any more questions, feel free to stop by again. We are always here for you at planDisney.

    See ya real soon!
