If I buy an AP in person on a black out day, will I be allowed to go into the park that day even if I had previously owned an AP, but has already expired? That is, I wouldn't be buying an AP for the first time, but my previous AP is expired.

    Greetings Alejandro!

If your Annual Passport has expired and you want to continue enjoying all the magical benefits of being an Annual Passholder, you will need a new Annual Passport card.
In other words, if you did not renew your original Passport within the allotted time frame to take advantage of the renewal offer, it's basically like starting over.
This means that even if you had previously been an Annual Passholder, the moment your Passport expired, your contract was terminated.
Whenever you're ready to purchase a new Annual Passport, you'll be allowed to enter the parks on the first day of purchase, regardless of blockout dates as long as you buy your Passport in person at a Disneyland Main Entrance Ticket Booth or a guest services desk inside a Disneyland Resort hotel (keep in mind park admission is subject to capacity and other closures).

The rules are a bit different when you renew your Annual Passport since a renewal usually comes with a discount and transitions smoothly into the new calendar year. Renewals generally honor the same blockout dates, unless of course, you choose to upgrade! So if you're going to renew your Annual Passport in person, make sure to check the Annual Passport blockout calendar so you don't have to pay admission to enter that day if it happens to be a blockout date for your type of Passport.

I hope this answers your question.
