Hi Melissa and welcome to planDisney!
I just love being a Florida resident and a
Walt Disney World Passholder! Since we live in the Sunshine State and so close to Disney, we get to visit the theme parks as often as possible and make new magical memories as a family each time. We have been Passholders for over 20 years and still enjoy all of the pixie dust Disney offers.
You can certainly purchase annual passes in person at any theme park ticket window or at
Disney Springs. Per the
Disney Parks Blog announcement last week, new annual pass sales will be limited and could possibly sell out, so purchasing them as soon as possible is best. Once you have purchased them, you have a year to activate them, so you don't have to use them immediately. Because of the limited availability, I highly suggest you
purchase your passes online. Since you are a Florida resident, you have the option to enroll in the Monthly Payment Program. Being able to split the payments up over 12 months makes becoming a Passholder more affordable.
Another thing to consider is that
theme park reservations are still required when visiting Walt Disney World, so if you are planning on purchasing your annual passes in person on the same day you want to visit, you may not be able to enter a theme park if they are all booked up. The good news is that as of this week, Passholders can enter the parks after 2:00 PM without a reservation, except at Magic Kingdom on Saturday or Sunday, so if you are unable to get into a park without reserving it in advance, you can enter in the afternoon instead.
Please stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.
Have a magical day!
Leslie
