Hello, Stephen. Thanks for visiting us here at planDisney to ask your question.
I, actually, have been an
Annual Passholder for several years Stephen and I am excited to see that you are interested in the program. If you are planning on visiting the Walt Disney World Theme Parks for several days, it's such a great value with all of the perks that are added in. I absolutely save on parking at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks as I drive from NC to Walt Disney World for most of my trips. Also, being able to have the memory maker for an entire year and getting the pictures that PhotoPass photographers take throughout the Walt Disney World Theme Parks directly on the MyDisneyExperience app for me to download is actually one of my favorite things. Throughout the year, Annual Passholders can also benefit from a discount on select Walt Disney World Resort Hotel stays and so much more.
At this time, the sale of new Annual Passes has currently been suspended due to the current circumstances. This would be why you are having a hard time locating a place to purchase yours on the Walt Disney World website. I don't think the program is going away forever though because Walt Disney World is currently renewing Annual Passes that are about to expire. I don't have any time-frame on when new Annual Passes might be available again, but do keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for that announcement when it does finally come.
Currently, you are able to purchase
two types of tickets for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation. You can choose from a standard theme park admission ticket which allows you to enter one of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks each day. The second option is to purchase a standard theme park admission ticket with the park hopper option. Park hopping is where you are able to visit more than one Walt Disney World theme park each day. Park hopping officially returned to Walt Disney World at the start of this year and I couldn't be happier. It does, however, look a little bit different than it did before. Here is how park hopping is currently working:
- Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option
- Guests wishing to park hop must have park pass reservations at the first park they wish to visit each day
- Guests wishing to park hop must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation before park hopping
- Park hopping hours start at 2:00 p.m. each day and last until park closing
- Park hopping is subject to park capacity limitations at this time
Park hopping is my favorite way to enjoy a day at Walt Disney World and I am so glad it's back. Whichever park tickets you decide to go with though, I know you'll have a great time.
I'm sorry that you aren't able to purchase an Annual Pass before your next Walt Disney World vacation, but hopefully, you'll be joining the family really soon. If you have any other questions before your trip, I'd love for you to come back and
ask me.
Have fun!
