Hi Sara!
Ooooh, how exciting! An Annual Pass for your son? That sounds like the beginning of a very magical chapter. I’m so glad you stopped by planDisney to ask us more about it!
Ok, so here’s the AP tea!
Florida-resident Annual Passes are a great deal, but to get one, the Guest has to meet the
official residency requirements. That means your son would need to show proof that he himself is a Florida resident, like a valid Florida driver’s license, state-issued ID, or Florida-based military ID.
A few important notes to keep in mind… If he’s under 18 and doesn’t have that kind of ID in his own name, even if he stays with a Florida resident (like a grandparent, auntie, etc.), he won’t be eligible for a Florida-resident Annual Pass. (Womp womp, I know!)
BUT! All is not lost! There’s always the
Disney Incredi-Pass, which is open to everyone, no matter where you live. It offers maximum flexibility with no blockout dates, so if your son is a frequent flyer to the magic, this might be the way to go.
Bonus tip: Once he has a pass in hand, keep an eye on those Passholder-exclusive goodies, like resort deals and those oh-so-fun surprise magnets that fill my mailbox with some real pixie dust!
Let me know if you’re planning a trip around his first day as a Passholder. I’d love to help you map out the perfect way to kick it off with a pixie-dusted bang!
Sending you and your son loads of faith, trust, and a whole lot of park days,
Emille
