If I buy an Annual Pass online, I’ve read that the year of membership won’t start till I activate it at the parks or Guest Relations. But can I use an AP hotel room discount before I technically activate it?

Hello there, Maria! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for taking the time to reach back out and ask another Walt Disney World Resort vacation question!

Congratulations on your decision to become a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder! In addition to gaining entry into four amazing theme parks, you will also gain many exclusive perks! Some of these include complimentary standard parking at all four theme parks, advanced FastPass+ reservations, discounts on merchandise, food, and beverages, and so much more. There are also additional offers available on the Passholder Extras page that may change based on the season so be sure to check out this page throughout your year as a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder!

You are completely correct in that all Walt Disney World Annual Passes must be activated at any theme park ticket window or a Guest Relations location before they can be used for park admission! However, you can use your Walt Disney World Annual Pass to book Disney Resort hotel Special Offers exclusively for Annual Passholders before completing the activation process. You will need to show a physical copy of your Walt Disney World Annual Pass upon check-in to receive your special rate so be sure to activate your Walt Disney World Annual Pass before that time!

I hope this information will assist you in planning for your magical year as a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder!
