Hey there, Kyle. Thanks for stopping by
planDisney with your question.
I'm excited you are interested in becoming an
Annual Passholder at Walt Disney World, Kyle. I've been a Passholder for several years now and the benefits are incredible. However, since the
reopening of Walt Disney World last summer, the sale of new Annual Passes has been temporarily suspended. I don't think the program is going anywhere though because, currently, Guests are being allowed to renew their Annual Passes if they are about to expire. Also, they are issuing new Annual Passes to two certain groups of people. At this time, if a parent has a current annual pass, new Annual Passes are being sold for little ones who have just turned 3 and now require valid theme park admission. In addition to those Guests, Annual Passes are being reissued to the people who ended up canceling their Annual Pass during the shut down last year. So this tells me, this program is going to be sticking around. I don't know when the next phase of opening up the sale of Annual Passes to a larger group of people will be, Kyle, but when that announcement is made you'll be able to find all of the details on the Disney Parks Blog.
Annual Passes are working a little bit differently than in the past due to the current circumstances. In addition to having valid theme park admission, Annual Passholders are also required to make
Park Pass Reservations for the day/days they'd like to enter the park. Currently, Annual Passholders are given 3 days' worth of Park Pass Reservations to be made in advance. If an Annual Passholder is staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, then they may make Park Pass Reservations for the length of their stay plus the additional 3. The 3 Park Pass Reservations can be made for consecutive days or spread out and are on a rolling system. Once you use one day, you can make another Park Pass Reservation for another day up to 3 total days.
Kyle, I hope you are able to join the Annual Passholder family soon. If you have any other questions about the Annual Pass program, I'd love for you to come back and
ask me.
