Hi there, Angela!
I'm so glad you decided not to pass by planDisney with your question. My husband and I became
Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passholders just this weekend, so I am happy to help you do the same!
Magical math is the only kind I excel at, so when I pointed out to my husband that with our 2024 vacation calendar, we would be saving money by upgrading our date-based theme park tickets to Annual Passes, he was all in. The process involved in upgrading an existing ticket is actually very simple. Just stop by a
Guest Relations location in any theme park (we used the location at the intersection of Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards in Disney's Hollywood Studios) or visit the
Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs with a photo ID and pay the difference between the cost of your theme park ticket and an Annual Pass. This always feels like a bargain to me because the cost of the annual pass is divided into two separate purchases, the original theme park ticket and the balance of the pass at the time of upgrade. Magic math strikes again!
Two things important to note when utilizing this method:
- The purchase must be completed while the theme park ticket is still valid (before the final day of use).
- The Annual Pass will remain valid for one year from the date of first use for the original theme park ticket, not the date of the Annual Pass upgrade if they differ.
If you haven't yet purchased theme park tickets, Angela, you have the option of
purchasing your Annual Pass online. Either way, as soon as you make the purchase, the pass will be linked to your My Disney Experience account...just like magic! We've loved selecting from the Passholder-exclusive design for our
Disney MagicMobile pass.
Currently, the only Annual Pass available to non-Florida residents who are not DVC owners is the
Incredi-Pass. While this is the most expensive pass offered, it comes with the perk of no blockout dates, so you can visit The Most Magical Place on Earth whenever you choose. Just remember that Annual Passholders are still required to make
theme park reservations in advance (with the exception of good-to-go days). With unlimited magic at your fingertips, the
discounts and complimentary parking available to Annual Passholders are just powdered sugar on the
beignet.
I hope this was helpful, Angela, and that you join the Passholder family soon. You're always welcome to
drop back by if any additional questions arise.
Cheers to magic in 2024,
Lizzie
