Can we buy additional points to our home resort at any time? We have 160 pts but as I look into planning future trips, it may be worth trying to increase to 180 rather than always borrowing from future years or paying a la carte for add'l pts.

    Hi Jamie,

Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question about adding on Disney Vacation Club points.  I certainly understand wanting to add on more points!  I often find myself borrowing from the next use year and considering adding on points.  I spoke with my wonderful fellow Disney Vacation Club Specialist Moms Panelist Kari, who offered some great advice on how adding on points works.  I also talked to a Vacation Club Guide by calling the number below.  She was very helpful in explaining the process of adding on points.

In order to add on points, you can either contact your Vacation Club Guide directly from the number on their business card or call (407) 566-3100 or 1-800-800-9100 to be connected with a Vacation Club Guide who can help you.  You should know that the minimum number of points that you can add on is 25, so you would need to increase to at least 185 points.  You can add on to your membership at any time; however, this does depend on availability of points.  Some home resorts may be sold out.  Your Vacation Club Guide can help you to find out if there are points available at your home resort.  You also will probably want to see if you can add on points with the same use year as your current points, so be sure to ask your Vacation Club Guide about this.  Please also be aware that if you are adding on 25 to 50 points, you will need to pay in cash or with a credit card.  If you add on more than 50 points, financing is available.  From there, it is a simple process.  You will work with your Vacation Club Guide over the phone and the transaction will be handled through the mail.

I hope this information is helpful for you, Jamie!  Best wishes in adding on to your Disney Vacation Club membership.  When you do, you'll be able to hear those magical words, "Welcome home," again and again!
