How busy will the parks be during the last week of September? Deciding whether or not to get Fantasmic Dining Package and do you think it'll be worth it. I can book ADR today (180 days), but reservations are only showing availability until July. Why?

    Hi Celestina,

I was at Walt Disney World during the last week of September last fall.  It was a lovely time to visit.  The crowds were at moderate levels, for the most part.  It was hot but not as oppressive as it typically is during the summer months.  It will likely be a bit busier at Epcot during the last weekend of September 2012 as that's when the International Food & Wine Festival begins.  Otherwise, I think you'll find the crowd levels to be reasonable at the Disney theme parks and water parks during your stay.

As for the Fantasmic! Dinner Package, it's a great option if you wish to minimize your wait time to get in to the show.  Those without the reserved seating voucher may need to wait 60-90 minutes before that evening's showing of Fantasmic!    By contrast, guests with vouchers purchased as part of the dinner package typically can walk right up to the theater 30 minutes before the show.  To me, that makes the Fantasmic! Dinner Package worthwhile.  Others may disagree.  If you decide you want to book one of these dinner packages, call (407) WDW-DINE to make your reservations now for September.  The Cast Member on the the phone will likely be able to explain why the current online booking window only extends to July.

Wishing you a truly magical Disney adventure this fall!
