If it is a busy park day and my lightning lanes are spaced more than 2 hours apart each, do I have to wait until I use the second lightning lane to book a 5th ride or can I book it 2 hours after we rose our 1st ride and booked the 4th ride?

Welcome to planDisney, Dennis! This summer promises to be a magical time at the Walt Disney World Resort, and it looks like you're headed that way in just a few months! I'm excited to chat with you about using Lightning Lane passes to maximize your magic and minimize your wait times for some of the most popular attractions, so let's jump right in!

Dennis, with the new Lightning Lane Multi Pass system, guests can book additional attractions each time they redeem one of their existing reservations. So this means that a guest may hold up to 3 return time reservations at any given time but cannot make additional selections until one of those has been used at the attraction. One way guests can hold additional Lightning Lane reservations is to combine Lightning Lane Single Pass selections with your Multi Pass selections if they are available (note that each guest may hold up to two single pass selections per day, and if you have a park hopper ticket, these may be in any park for which you have eligible admission).

Dennis, one strategy I recommend is making at least one of your return times as early in the day as possible so you'll have the opportunity to book an additional attraction or experience early that same day. If you find yourself with later return times initially, you can also try to modify your return times or experiences up until your Lightning Lane passes are redeemed, so keep checking if you're hoping to book additional return times for the same day!

Don't forget that if you're staying as a guest at a Disney Resort hotel, you can also take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry to cross off one or two attractions before park opening and before heading to redeem your first Lightning Lane pass! There's no greater feeling than tapping into that first attraction just a few minutes after the park has officially opened, but knowing you've also crossed another major attraction off the list as well!

I hope this helps, Dennis! The new system is pretty user-friendly, and I'm sending all the pixie dust your way for early return times, lots of same-day availability, and short wait times when you visit! If you have any other planning questions, come back to planDisney and let us know! We'll see you real soon!
