How busy is Magic Hour in the summer? How early should we arrive to get into the park? Specifically morning at Animal Kingdom (its our first day of parks on our trip Monday July 30th).

    Hi Andrea!

One of my favorite things about staying in a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel when we visit the Walt Disney World Resort is being able to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours!  Extra Magic Hours, no matter the time of year, are a great way to see a few attractions before the crowds get heavy in the morning, or after they slow down in the evening.  Plus, it's a great way to beat the summer heat!

Generally, when my husband and I take advantage of morning Extra Magic Hours, to maximize the time we have, we try to get to the parks at least 30 minutes before Extra Magic Hours begin, if not earlier.  Even on crowded park days, the crowds are much lighter during Extra Magic Hours, and if you are in front of the rest of the Extra Magic Hours crowd, that gives you an even better advantage over the other guests!

With the popularity of Pandora - The World of Avatar at Disney's Animal Kingdom, if you are able to wait a while for the park to open, earlier is better.  Sometimes, waiting to get into the park can make guests a bit fidgety, so you should decide what is best for you and your family.  Either way, I do highly recommend arriving before Extra Magic Hours begin!  Don't forget to also make your FastPass+ selections to make the most of your time in the parks!

Have a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow!
