Hi Vince!
When your family follows a school calendar, your vacation is the same as most families, so your visit is likely to fall during a popular time at
Walt Disney World. If you can avoid Christmas week, spring break, and other holidays when schools are closed, you can avoid peak times in the parks.
Most Guests include a weekend in their vacations and more locals head to the theme parks on Saturdays and Sundays, so expect these days to be the most popular. Saturdays in
Epcot can be hopping during
Epcot's International Flower and Garden Festival and
Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival.
I am a firm believer in arriving at the parks at opening. I love the early half hour entrance perk given to guests staying at a
Walt Disney World Resort. With this advantage, you can experience quite a few attractions in your first hour or two. Wait times tend to increase a few hours after opening, but drop in the evening. Expect to see an increase around 2:00 pm when Park Hopping commences. My family likes to hit the parks early, take a midday break at our hotel, and then head back in the evening.
Some third party sites study crowd and wait times as a science if you are interested in a more exact prediction for specific dates. My favorite is Touring Plans.
The Disney queues are no DMV line. Some offer interactive activities, displays, and are amazingly themed. Plus wait times allow you to visit with your family and slow down a minute.
Wishing you a wonderful adventure when you visit Mickey!
