Hi Amanda! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
If you've never stayed at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge before I hope you're ready to be amazed on your next trip to
Walt Disney World Resort! I stayed at this Resort on my last trip in December and it was more beautiful and breathtaking than I even imagined! What made it extra special was the fact that the Resort was still decorated for the holidays, which meant the lobby was dressed in its holiday best which included towering Christmas trees and even a giraffe made entirely of gingerbread! Since your trip is right after the holidays the Resort may still be decorated when you visit.
You will find that Walt Disney World does its best to accommodate all of its visitors, making it easy for everyone to get around as well as ride their favorite attractions within the Theme Parks. Disney even has a guide to help
Guests with Mobility Disabilities make the most of their magical vacation. You will find that wheelchairs and ECVs (Electric Convenience Vehicles) are certainly welcome on the complimentary
Disney Bus Transportation that runs between the Resorts and the Parks. In fact, all bus routes throughout the Resort can accommodate up to two mobility devices per bus in most of the vehicles.
Did you know Guests can also board the
Disney Skyliner right in their wheelchair or other mobility devices? This new transportation option has to be one of my favorite ways to get around the Resort. I love seeing
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort from high up in the sky, and if you're planning to Park Hop, or visit more than one Theme Park per day, with a
Park Hopper Option Theme Park Ticket you can ride the Skyliner all the way from
EPCOT to
Disney's Hollywood Studios and back again!
I hope you and your party have a perfect getaway to The Most Magical Place on Earth!
