Hey there, Abby!
Welcome back to planDisney - we're so excited you've returned with another wonderful
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question! It sounds like you're finishing up some last-minute vacation plans for your upcoming runDisney race weekend. As a fellow runDisney enthusiast and past
runDisney Springtime Surprise 10-Miler participant, I'm thrilled for the opportunity to assist you with these important plans!
Abby, information regarding
race transportation for the Hakuna Matata 10-Miler was recently released as part of the Digital Expo & Event Guide. This information can be accessed by navigating to the
Runner Info tab on the runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend website. According to the guide, bus transportation from the Finish Line at EPCOT back to the Disney Resort hotels will begin at 6:30 a.m. and continue until 10:00 a.m. The Digital Expo & Event Guide also indicates that Monorail and
Disney Skyliner transportation will not be offered during the Hakuna Matata 10-Miler, so keep this in mind when planning race logistics!
At the time of writing, it looks like Disney Resort hotel availability for this weekend is somewhat limited, Abby. (After all, this is an incredibly popular runDisney race weekend!) However, in my opinion, you can't go wrong with either of the options you've mentioned, if you're able to find some availability (perhaps with a
special offer rate applied?). In my personal opinion, Disney's Yacht Club Resort or
Disney's BoardWalk Inn would be fantastic choices due to their locations, since you've mentioned you'd like to head back to EPCOT for the
early theme park entry period. This is because you'd have the ability to walk directly to the International Gateway entrance from your resort, allowing you to access the World Showcase before all of the Guests entering from the main entrance! Plus, if you'll be traveling with other Guests hoping to spectate the race, they'll be able to do so from the comfort of the Resort hotel. It doesn't get easier than that! With that said, I've stayed at many different Disney Resort hotels during runDisney race weekends, and I've been very pleased with the transportation options from all.
Abby, I hope these recommendations are helpful to you as you wrap up your vacation planning and gear up for a riveting race weekend! I wish you a magical and memorable Hakuna Matata 10-Miler and a relaxing and restful Walt Disney World Resort vacation after the race. If you have any more planning questions before or during your trip, you're always welcome to return to
planDisney for more help. We're here to help you make the most of your time at The Most Magical Place on Earth!
Wishing you miles of magic,
Lauren
