Welcome to planDisney Janine, and thank you for sending in your question! It sounds like you’re getting everything organized for a smooth and stress free stay at
Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, and I’m happy to help make that planning a little easier. Transportation, MagicBands, and resort logistics can feel like a lot to juggle, but once you know how everything works, your trip becomes much more relaxed and enjoyable. Let’s walk through what you can expect with the resort buses and how to manage your MagicBands so you arrive fully prepared.
Port Orleans Riverside has four internal bus stops: West Depot, North Depot, East Depot, and South Depot. The South Depot is the main stop near the lobby and most central resort amenities. Buses usually make their way around the resort in the order of West, North, East, and finally South before heading to the parks. When returning from the parks, the buses are labeled simply as Port Orleans Riverside. They follow the same loop in reverse, so you can get off at whichever depot is closest to your room. If you need the lobby area, you would get off at South Depot. At certain slower times of day, buses may also serve both Riverside and French Quarter, but signage and driver announcements will make this clear.
For
MagicBands, you can deactivate old ones through the
My Disney Experience app or website. Go to your profile, under Account select MagicBands and Cards, find the bands you no longer want to use and choose the deactivate option. Once deactivated, the band will no longer work and cannot be transferred to another person. You can purchase new MagicBands by ordering them through your MDE account for an upcoming resort stay or by buying them once you arrive at Walt Disney World.
Janine, I hope this information helps you feel well prepared and confident as you plan your stay at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. Understanding how transportation works and getting your MagicBands organized ahead of time means you can spend less time worrying about logistics and more time enjoying the magic waiting for you in the parks. Thank you for stopping by with your question, and I’m wishing you a stay filled with comfort, ease, and all the Disney enchantment your trip can hold.
