Hi Peter,
How exciting to be planning a land and sea vacation! A Disney cruise starting and ending with a stay at the
Walt Disney World Resort sounds like pure perfection. I love these kinds of vacations and am happy to help you with this information.
Yes,
ground transportation is available from the Walt Disney World Resort hotels to Port Canaveral, and to the Walt Disney World Resort after your cruise. These coach buses offer comfortable rides to the coast and back, but you must arrange this transportation in advance through Disney Cruise Line and there is a per-person fee for the trip.
You can reserve this transportation for your family through the
Disney Cruise Line website or
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app after
logging into your reservation. You may also
call Disney Cruise Line and speak with a helpful Crew Member to make these arrangements.
When you complete online check-in for your cruise, you will be asked to select a Port Arrival Time (PAT). Please know that if you have booked the Disney Cruise Line transportation, they will contact you the evening prior with confirmation of your pick-up time at
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. Your specific Port Arrival Time chosen may not align, but hakuna matata! Rest assured that you will arrive at the port with plenty of time for the boarding process and to enjoy activities and lunch onboard before sailing away. For the return trip, you will have the reservation details and receive additional guidance for disembarkation day including the location and timing of the Walt Disney World Resort buses.
I love how Disney takes care of us on vacation, Peter! Allowing them to drive us safely in a themed bus to our cruise keeps me in vacation mode and puts my mind at ease that all logistics will be taken care of.
I hope this is helpful in planning the details of your exciting vacation this fall. Please sail back with any further questions you have.
Happy planning!
Amy
