How do you use the bus system from a resort to a theme park?

Welcome to planDisney, Raymond! I'm so glad to be able to answer this question for you before you take off on your trip to Walt Disney World Resort in less than two weeks. Thinking about how you're going to get around while you're on vacation is a great idea because there are so many different modes of transportation for you to try like the monorail, the water transportation, the Disney Skyliner, and the bus system, which I'm happy to walk you through today.

Picking up a bus from your Resort Hotel is very easy. Some Resort Hotels have one large bus depot near the main building with queues and stops for each of the Theme Parks as well as Disney Springs, and you'll see bus stops like this at Value Resorts like Disney's Pop Century Resort or Disney's Art of Animation Resort. Other Resort Hotels, like Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, have an internal bus system that has many stops around the property so you can just wait at the closest one to your room until the bus you're looking for drives by. Finally, some Resort Hotels, like Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, have one bus stop outside the main building so you can walk there from your room and wait at that stop no matter where you're going and get on the bus you need as it pulls up. One thing all these bus stops have in common is a big screen that tells you when the next bus is coming so you know exactly how long you need to wait!

As part of the phased reopening process, the capacity on the buses is being limited in order to allow for physical distancing so the bus driver will ask you how many people are in your party and direct you to sit in a numbered area that's separated by dividers. I just came back from a week at Walt Disney World Resort and I found the transportation to be the most efficient I've ever experienced. If one bus filled up, there was inevitably another one right behind it to pick up the remaining guests! If you have any questions in the moment, please feel free to ask a friendly transportation Cast Member or someone at the Front Desk of your Resort Hotel. They'll be happy to tell you the best way to get from where you are to where you're going!

    Have a magical day, Raymond!
