Hey-Howdy-Hey, Nichole! We have a rootin'-tootin' good time answering questions from guests here at planDisney, and I'm happier than a clam at high tide to address your inquiry about bus transportation at
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. I see this isn't your first rodeo with us, so let's saddle up and see if we can get you where you're aiming to go.
I opened up the
My Disney Experience app and tapped the Location Pin icon in the bottom menu next to the Home icon. This pulled up the resort map, and I dragged my finger until I was hovering over Fort Wilderness. From there, I toggled the Transportation icon in the menu at the top of the screen, and you'll find it sandwiched between Shops and Guest Services. This displays all the bus stops at the resort. I counted 13 internal stops in addition to the Outpost Depot by the main entrance. It appears that each internal stop is just a short walk from the loops that are nearby. I can't imagine the walk would be more than 10 minutes from the farthest flung campsite or cabin in a particular loop.
These stops are also divided into three distinct routes: Yellow, Purple, and Orange. One goes right down the center of the resort, one for the left side, and one for the right with some overlap. You can ask about which route serves which loops at the front desk once your campsite or cabin has been assigned. You can take the internal buses to the
boat dock for service to Magic Kingdom, or ride up to the Outpost Depot to head to the other theme parks, water parks, or Disney Springs. The app also lets you get directions, just tap on where you're going, tap "Get Directions," and enter your starting point.
That's all the information I've got for you this time, partner! I know you'll be able to wrangle the internal bus system in no time. Be sure to ask any additional questions about your resort or your itinerary as you think of them, Nichole. I'm wishing you nothing but blue skies on your vacation.
Stay magical,
Scott
